Avid Resources Expands Through Strategic Appointments and Promotion

  • Two strategic hires and an internal promotion boost Avid Resources management ranks
  • Avid Resources is a major Australian multidisciplinary engineering and construction group with more than 175 staff
  • A new organisational structure has also been implemented to increase flexibility and client engagement

With improved business fundamentals and strengthening commodity prices Western Australian based multi-disciplinary engineering company Avid Resources, a member of AvidSys Group, has bolstered its ranks with a number of strategic appointments and promotions.

Avid Resources has appointed highly experienced mining engineer Mr Deependra Bhardwaj as Executive General Manager. Mr Bhardwaj has 18 years’ experience in the global mining industry, spanning Staretgic planning, operational, commercial, safety, technology roles.

Chairman and Managing Director Ansh Gautam said: “Deependra’s deep operational and commercial experience, developed in a global career spanning Asia and Australia, is the perfect mix for our next Executive General Manager. I am confident his discipline and focus will deliver a culture of high standard of safety and performance for Avid Resources”.

Avid Resources has also appointed Mr Alistair Baron as General Manager of Commercial and Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ), with Mr Baron possessing over 25 years of industry experience.

Mr Baron has held senior positions with major resource production companies, including as Rail Operations Manager at BHP Iron Ore, General Manager for Towns Management Operations of Rio Tinto Iron Ore and Principal – Integrated Planning & Business Improvement at Karara Mining.

In addition, Mr Baron also holds an MBA from the University of New England, a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at the University of Western Australia and is a current Member of Institute of Engineers Australia.

Avid Resources has also promoted Mr Andrew Youngs to General Manager of Operations, having previously managed the team’s Water division.

Mr Young has over 25 years’ experience in civil engineering relating to the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.

Commenting on the strategic expansion of the business, Mr Ansh Gautam, Chairman said, “Avid Resources continues to grow its operations across the country and our fresh leadership will deliver an acceleration in the enormous potential for value and creating much needed jobs especially in the home state of Western Australia.”

“Concurrently, the business has successfully completed a re-structure which sees an efficient organisational structure, allowing Avid to be more nimble and offer greater client engagement.”
